Oh the fun of living in Provo...

Who ever said that living amongst your own kind is safe? Ha Ha, I should have guessed...I am less protected "in the land of my people" than I was when I went to school 40 miles from the border of MEXICO!!

This morning I woke up to a knock at the door and to say the least it was very unpleasant. My neighbor came to inform me that my car was broken in to last night...BOO PROVO!! HELP, WHEN CAN I GET OUT OF HERE? lol I didn't have much of anything in the car, however I was stupid and left my pink book bag on the floor on the passenger side and of course it was stolen. I know what you are thinking...so what..your book bag was stolen. That would be true, but unfortunately this was my "fun" bag that I bring to work which means that my laptop was in my bag along with some books that my husband had bought me. The thieves didn't take my skis though (and trust me they are worth a lot more $$$ than my 2002 Gateway laptop). I was VERY GLAD that they didn't get my skis. :)

Oh well, you live and you learn...right? Chalk one up for yet another WONDERFUL experience in Provo, UT.

RANDOM

This first picture is just a "fun" picture, but down below is a picture of when Scott's mom & two sisters came over to our tiny apt. for dinner. Scott made his famous Sticky Chicken (which is to die for I might add). The night was full of laughs...A LOT of calories....and love. :) I have said it before, I am so thankful that I married into this family, they truly wear their hearts on their sleeves & have welcomed me as one of their own. Oh by the way...aren't his sisters BEAUTIFUL?
This picture below is of Scott's mother. She is such a sweet and inspirational woman. I am so glad that I can call her my mother-in-law!
These last two pictures are of a random dinner that Scott and I had with my lil sister, her friend Amanda & Scott's friend.....Scott. We met up to eat at the Cheesecake Factory (my favorite), and enjoyed some laughs and as always WAY TO MANY CALORIES!!

HE IS MY ANGEL

Now I hope that I don't come across as bragging...but my husband IS AMAZING!!! :) Seriously, being married to such a sweet, kind man makes my life SO MUCH EASIER!! I went to work last night a little down from the days events. I came home this morning and headed straight to bed. I was exhausted, it was a long night at work. Every day when I wake up the first thing that I do is go straight to the bathroom (sorry if that is gross)...but true. Anyway, Scott of course knew that this was my daily routine so he cleaned the bathroom while I was asleep & I woke up to these amazing flowers and a few other things I needed like vitamins and chap-stick! He is so thoughtful, handsome, intelligent...ok so I could go on about him for hours but I won't for your sake. He truly is my angel. I love him with all my heart & like I have said before...I am so thankful that we found each other. What a great catch!

MAKING FRIENDS

So as many of you already know, living in Utah has been quite the difficult transition for me. For the longest time I have had a rough time fitting in here, making friends & enjoying myself. Thank goodness for a wonderful husband who is always encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone and explore Provo, UT to its fullest.

I have lived in Provo for over a year now, and until last week I could honestly say that I had no friends (other than Scott & his family) here. The church is such an amazing organization. Just the principle of visiting teaching is such an amazing thing to me. I recently was assigned new visiting teachers & they truly are amazing women, caring, fun, and have similar interests just like me. They came over last week to visit teach me and we decided to go see the movie "Twilight" at the dollar theater together. Before we went to the movie we stopped at Shopko for some snacks & when the cashier was checking us out I asked her to take a picture of us. The night was full of laughs, fun, and girl talk. Don't get me wrong, I love my husband but some girl time was very much needed. :) YAY FOR FRIENDS IN PROVO! Hopefully we will get together again soon!
