A VERY BUMPIT THANKSGIVING!!!! LOL

These pictures were too funny not to post. As most of you know I went to Boise, Idaho for Thanksgiving this year. Scott actually came up with the idea to bring a "bit" of Utah to Idaho for the holiday. That ended up translating into "Bumpits". Something that WAY TOO MANY UTAH WOMEN sport here!! Ha Ha!!!! Scott and I went to the store and picked up a healthy supply of bumpits & the photo shoot began. His sisters and mother were great sports. I hope that you all enjoy the funny photos, because we sure had a blast creating them!!! :)

Southern California

This weekend I had the opportunity to travel to Southern California to visit my little sister & some friends from college. This was a quick trip...4 days to be exact, but so much fun! The above picture is with Emily, Tara and myself. I played college b-ball with these ladies. The picture below is from right to left: Emily, Tara, myself, & Alex.
While we were in San Diego we went to this theme park and rode some rides. This was BY FAR the coolest one! lol By that I mean that it was a FREAKING HOT DAY & I just wanted to jump in some water. I really didn't care that it was a kiddie ride! :)
This is at Carla's town home in San Diego. We are doing what we do best....lol
After a long day of shopping! :) Cali has the best deals!!
Just goofing around outside the Cheesecake Factory
Tall women unite! :)

This was my first and only "star sighting" while in Cali. :) Do you know who he is? lol
Brett and Britta....the two love birds

Ha Ha, I am not sure what is happening in this picture
I came home to a clean apt. and 2 dozen red roses. It was a wonderful trip & Scott made it just as wonderful when I arrived! Life couldn't be any better!!!! :)

Greek festival

The Greek Festival is MY FAVORITE event in Salt Lake City! Last year I was bored at work and another nurse suggested that Scott and I go and check this festival out. We have been hooked ever since! The above picture is of the program that they hand you when you enter. Inside this program there is a bunch of Greek history & great recipes of my favorite greek food. Scott and I ate until we could hardly move (that is the picture below) all while being entertained by Greek dancers. It was a lot of fun, hopefully we will still be around to go to it next year!

Memorial Day

For Memorial Day weekend Scott and I decided to go to this theme park near our house and play mini golf, swing at some baseballs in the batting cages, and see who could win in go-carts. It was a great time. Scott and I had to laugh because we were the only adults in the park w/out children. It was a blast to just relax and enjoy life as a kid again. That's why I love my husband so much, he never lets me get too far away from my inner child! :) I can't wait until our next adventure!

YAY!! Scott graduates from BYU!!!!!!!!!!!

So this month has been a big month for Scott, he has been studying like crazy for the DAT (Dental Admissions Test) and then he graduated from BYU on Friday. It was such a beautiful commencement & to make it even better it was short and sweet! (I think that is the way ALL graduation ceremonies should be) lol Scott's sisters Robin, Christy & Jess were able to attend & we had a blast hanging out with them and our nieces and nephews. My mother drove up from Montana to be there & my little sis Britta also came. Below you will see some of the funny pics that we took after graduation. It was a great day, I am so proud of Scott! I love you baby, keep up the great work!!

Happy Father's Day Daddy!!!!! :)

There is one thing that I can say with assurance, any success that I have had is because of two amazing people; my mother & my father. Because today is Father's Day though I am going to write about my father & how much he means to me. He is the most hard working, unselfish person I have ever met. I have never seen a man sacrifice more for his family. He wants nothing but the best for all of his children and has went to great lengths to see that we have it. He has an unconditional love for individuals who need help & is always willing to lend a hand for any person that needs it. He loves the lord, loves studying & preaching the gospel. He has never faltered on what he believes in & has set a high standard for all his children. I have always been a "Daddy's Girl" & feel a very special bond with him. My mother sent me this poem & I have to post it because I feel every word that it says about my own father. I love you Daddy, this poem is for you! :)

Daddy's Girl

When you were young, pony-tailed,
face full of playful freckles,
were you a daddy's girl?
I was. I still am.
Did you look to him for your security,
for love and attention,
for the understanding, and the patience you lacked
as a child?
My daddy was the center of my small world,
the focus of my affections,
the star that lit my life, shining bright.
Shining still in my heart.
The years have led me here,
weathered with maturity and responsibilities,
and I see more clearly now.
The hardships, burdens of love,
and all the small sacrifices he made for me,
for our family.
He created stability, a place to call home.
All the photographs I browse through
of a child long forgotten, scarcely remembered
smiling, so happy and so loved.
The mere thought of becoming that role model
is enough to send me cowering, afraid...
looking for guidance.
Turning to my father and my more for support,
advice, wise counsel, and for approval.
Grown up, I see differently now...
A new perspective of a man I have always known.
My heart is full, my emotions overpowering
just in the certainty of that bond.
He's been there for me through all the conflicts
helping me over the rough, ragged stones of growing up.
My respect for him is unending,
faith is unbound, and love is unquestioning.
Even in the midst of all my imperfections, he is lenient,
ignoring the pitfalls, the downfalls, the shortcomings,
he just accepted me as I was, as I am.
The sheer purity of it leaves me awe-struck
and it lifts me up, it holds my head a little higher,
it keeps me in balance,
harmonizing with the world around me
beautifully, like an inspired masterpiece from the soul
of an honest man.
I am honored to know him, to love him, to be of him.
He's my hero, and I am his daughter, his little girl.

Great Times With Great Peeps!

So tonight I had the opportunity to work at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, UT!!! YAY FOR AMAZING FRIENDS!!! :) I always feel like I am at home when I work here & all of the ICU nurses that work at Lakeview are my family away from home. Any chance that I get to drive to Bountiful and work I ALWAYS jump at the opportunity! In the first picture you will see (from left to right) Tiffany, Curtis, me & Jen. These three ROCKIN nurses make the 12 hour shifts FLY BY! Tiffany wasn't even working tonight, she just heard that I was working & brought all of us cookies. She is such a sweetheart & I am so spoiled here! I love being a nurse, but more importantly I love the nurses that make my job worthwhile! Thanks guys, you're the best!!!

The New Stiletto's

This story was too funny to pass up. I was shopping with my little sister at Nordstrom Rack in Draper & I found these stiletto's! :) At first sight I was in love! I had my sis take this picture of me in the heels with her camera phone so we could send it to Scott for his approval. He's response was "Wow, those are...scandalous "! I wrote back asking if he didn't like them. He replied that he loved them, but that they were WAY too sexy for church. I continued to tell him that as LDS modest dressing women that all we have is "sex in our shoes". He wrote me back saying that I could only wear them to church if my mother approved. I sent a picture to my mom & her first comment was "WOW, I LOVE THEM"!! Britta then called her and asked if she thought that I could wear the stiletto's to church...she of course was nothing but supportive!! Ha Ha, there is one thing that I love about my mother...she has a great eye for fashion & has always encouraged us to be the same! Thanks mom for your support! :) These beautiful stiletto's now have a happy home in Provo with me!!

Kelly Clarkston Concert

YAY FOR KELLY CLARKSTON!!! :) So about a month ago a co-worker of mine told me that he could get me Kelly Clarkston tickets for REALLY CHEAP! I was super excited & bought4 tickets. Jess (Scott's sister), Britta (my sis), & Amanda (my sis's best friend) all went to the concert with me. It was SO MUCH FUN! The only bad thing is that it wasn't really June weather. It rained the whole time...and as you can see by the picture below, Jess and I look like we peed our pants because of the wet grass. lol It was totally worth it though, Kelly has such an amazing voice! So glad that I got this opportunity!! :)
